Delphi Weather

Delphi Weather is typically Mediterranean, mild with lots of sunshine and limited rainfalls. Situated between sea and mountain, Delphi is a place influenced by both. The main characteristic of weather in Delphi is low humidity.

Spring Weather in Delphi

Spring in Delphi is gorgeous; lush greenery, blooming plains and mountains around Delphi, balmy days and pleasant evening compose the scenery here in Spring. They say that the best months to visit Delphi, if you are not into skiing, are April to September, and indeed April and May can be prosperous and invigorating in this area. Temperature rises over 18-20 in April and sunshine is abundant, with crispy clear air and breeze.

Summer Weather in Delphi

Summer in Delphi can be warm with plenty of sunshine, but with a pleasantly cool breeze coming both from the mountain and the sea area, beneath the town. Since sunshine is plentiful and temperatures can be up to 30-35C, visitors of the archaeological site are recommended to start their excursions and visits early in the morning, in order to avoid the dazzling effects of the sun, as there is little shadow on site. For those who spend some days in the area, the Bay of Itea offers a great place to swim and enjoy the refreshing waters, which are not very warm, but can be a quite rejuvenating and refreshing oasis amidst summer days.

Fall Weather in Delphi

Fall in Delphi is quite mild, especially in September and October, with little rainfall, but in early November weather in Delphi becomes chillier and visitors should have warmer clothes with them. In September temperature can be up to 25C, gradually falling as approaching winter.

Winter Weather in Delphi

Winter in Delphi is colder than in other parts of the country, as it is located at Mount Parnassus, where vast snowfalls occur each winter. The ski centre on the two main slopes of the mountain opens for its winter visitors and a new tourist season, slightly different this time begins. The archaeological site and the museum at Delphi are open to the public all year long and in winter, savvy skiers or people who come on a daily Delphi tour enjoy a touch of history and tradition in Delphi or Arachova. Temperatures below zero occur mostly in January and early February.
